Board Members

Please find below the members of the Board of the Essex Regional Retirement System.  The Board is comprised of members who are elected or appointed in accordance with the provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 34B, Section 19A (MGL C.34, S.19A).  The Board typically meets on the last Monday of each month at 8:30 a.m., at the offices of the Essex Regional Retirement System located at 491 Maple Street, Building 200, Danvers, MA.  For more information or to contact a member of the Board, please call (978) 739-9151 or you may email Board members directly at the email addresses listed below.

Below are the ERRS Board members and a brief description of their position on the Board.

Alan J. Benson, First Member
Town Administrator, Town of Boxford

Mr. Benson serves as the First Member of the Board, who is chosen by a weighted vote of the chief executives and chief administrative officers of the retirement system. Mr. Benson presently serves as the Boxford Town Administrator and he can be reached via email. Mr. Benson was elected First Member on October 27, 2015 and his term expires on December 1, 2017.

Kevin A. Merz, Second Member
Treasurer-Collector, Town of Ipswich
Chairman of the Advisory Council

Mr. Merz serves as the Second Member of the Board. The Second Member is chosen by a majority vote of the Advisory Council. Mr. Merz also serves as Chair of the Advisory Council. Mr. Merz's term as a Board member expires on December 1, 2018. You can contact Mr. Merz directly via email.

Elected Member
Retired Town Accountant from West Newbury and Groveland

Ms. Yaskell is an elected member of the Board. The two elected members are voted in by the active and retired members of ERRS. Ms. Yaskell currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board. Retired Town Administrator and Director of Finance from Lynnfield

Mr. Maney is an elected member of the Board and is voted in by the active and retired members of ERRS. Mr. Maney currently serves as Chair of the Board. The term of office for this position is three years. Mr. Maney's current term expires on December 1, 2019. You can contact Mr. Maney via ERRS.

Fifth Member

Mr. Malgeri is an attorney in private practice and serves as the administrator of the Greater Lawrence Sanitary District Retirement Board. Mr. Malgeri serves as the Fifth Member of the ERRS Board. The Fifth Member cannot be an employee, retiree or official of ERRS and is chosen by the other four Board members. The term of office for this position is five years.
