Roberta Josephson is the Treasurer of the Town of Rockport. She is the Regional Retirement Board member representing the Treasurers of the towns and special districts.

Roberta was elected to her first three-year Board term in November 2006. Her primary responsibility is to maintain and improve communications with the 19 towns, 6 regional schools and 21 special districts which make up the retirement system.

Board Chairman Timothy A. Bassett, in a letter to the Board of Selectmen, said, "We are grateful to Mrs. Josephson for her willingness to apply her exceptional experience as a professional accountant in both the public and private sectors to serve the members of the Essex Regional Retirement System. As a trustee of the Retirement System, she will help manage and oversee two hundred and sixty million dollars in retirement funds and measure the performance of twenty-one professional money managers. The Board's financial goal is to maximize investment returns and thus protect the members of our Retirement System. We are honored to have Mrs. Josephson join us as we seek to continue to build on the outstanding service we are proud to provide our membership. The Board is grateful to the Town of Rockport for sharing the financial talents of this important member. We are certain that Roberta Josephson will contribute favorably to the financial stability of the retirement system."

As the representative of the towns and special districts on the Retirement Board, Roberta is Chairman of the Advisory Council and conducts the annual meeting of all governmental Unit's Treasurers.

A native of Bangor, Maine, now a Rockport resident, Roberta was appointed Treasurer – Collector in February of 1999 by the Board of Selectmen. Prior to working for the town she was an Accounting Manager with Pilgrim Insurance Company in Boston. A graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting, Roberta's first job was town clerk in Falmouth, Maine. Since that time she has held numerous accounting positions and also opened and operated a restaurant with her husband, Michael.
